Acupuncture in
Peri-Natal Care
Poke. Heal. Repeat
Acupuncture is a treatment that involves the insertion of thin needles into various points on the body to provide a therapeutic effect. This therapy is a safe and effective treatment in pregnancy care.
Acupuncture for Preconception
Acupuncture is included in most fertility care plans as it prepares the woman’s body and uterus for pregnancy, supports ovulation and implantation and improves IUI and IVF success rates.
Acupuncture in Pregnancy
Our Naturopathic Doctors can support you with acupuncture for common pregnancy related concerns, such as morning sickness, digestive upset such as heartburn or constipation, sleep disturbances and breech position.

Acupuncture has also been shown to reduce the likelihood of miscarriage with recurrent or threatened miscarriage.

Pre-birth acupuncture (beginning at 36 weeks) reduces the need for medical induction, epidurals, and emergency c-sections. It prepares the body for labour by encouraging the opening and dilation of the cervix. Acupuncture can also be used for induction if mom is post-date or experiencing prolonged or stalled labour.
Acupuncture Postpartum
Acupuncture can also be included in your postpartum care plan as it can help support hormonal changes, recovery, mood, feelings of anxiety, sleep and milk supply for breastfeeding
